Sunčana Roksandić appeared on national television to discuss corruption risks in Croat

Sunčana Roksandić, Professor of Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, appeared on the programme Novi dan on N1, where she spoke about corruption in Croatia and the importance of continuous education on the topic.

In the interview, Professor Roksandić highlighted that the greatest and most persistent corruption risk in Croatia—as well as in other EU member states—lies in the intersection of public and private sector interests. She emphasized that transparency is the key solution and stressed that external pressure, such as accession to international organizations, should not be a prerequisite for improving governance standards. According to her, public companies should be managed by qualified professionals, and transparency must be embedded in domestic systems.

As the Head of the Council for the Implementation of the Code of Conduct for Public Officials in Public Authorities, Professor Roksandić underlined that continuous education on corruption issues is essential for strengthening integrity and accountability in public life.
