Survey Insights: How Are Universities Addressing Corruption and Integrity in Higher Education?

As part of our Erasmus+ project on anti-corruption education, we recently conducted a survey to assess how universities across Europe are integrating topics of corruption, ethics, and integrity into their curricula.

Key Findings:

  • 90% of participating institutions include some form of education on corruption and integrity

  • 57% offer dedicated undergraduate courses

  • 29% run full postgraduate degree programs focused on corruption studies

  • 14% integrate anti-corruption education into broader postgraduate programs

While these numbers are encouraging, they also reveal a clear need for broader access, deeper integration, and more systematic coverage of anti-corruption topics in higher education.

Education plays a vital role in empowering young people and cultivating ethical leadership. Our project continues to explore innovative ways to expand anti-corruption education—through academic programs, digital tools, and cross-border collaboration.

Let’s keep working toward a stronger culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability in universities and beyond.
